Once authorised by you, your customers can login and create their own quotes through your website. They are presented with your branded page which allows them to create a quote using either the simple quote wizard or through the standard quote system where they can access tools including Drawing Doctor, ShapeMate, and existing parts.

ipLaser allows your customers to create their own quotes anytime and anywhere. They can print or email the finished quotes and can confirm, place and pay for orders online. Your customers will see the final price while your material and cutting costs will remain hidden.

Drawing Importer

Upload multiple drawings fast. Simply set your material type, grade and thickness along with part quantities at any stage of the process. You can even modify the attributes of multiple parts at the same time.

ipLaser doesn’t restrict you to uploading one part at a time. You can make changes to material type, grade, thickness and quantity before and after uploading.

Drawing Doctor

You know the difference between a good and a bad part drawing. But not all of your customers do. ipLaser automatically corrects simple errors such as duplicated lines or lines not joined. Drawing Doctor gives you even more control so that you can correct drawings with title blocks, side elevations, dashed (tapped) holes, and more.

ipLaser allows you to quickly correct problematic drawings within the one system. All corrections can be done on-the-fly when uploading.

No Drawing - Estimator

No electronic drawing or physical drawing? All you have is a sketch on the back of a napkin? No problem. ipLaser’s estimator allows you to simply input external square dimensions, then tweak by dragging or adding nodes to design your required shape. You can then input internal shapes (rectangles, holes, slots, triangles) and quantities. Select your material, grade, thickness and part quantity and then simply send your estimate to quote which can be automatically watermarked with ‘estimate – not for manufacture’.

You can save time by turning your hand sketches into quotations all within the ipLaser platform. You don’t even have to create a CAD drawing to generate a price which means you can send out quotes fast.

ipShapemate

ipLaser’s Shape Mate tool offers a 50+ part parametric package allowing you to change the scale of a part while keeping dimensions proportional. Shape Mate also allows you to add additional holes to parts. ShapeMate parts are then stored within the customers part library as individual Part ID’s for future use.

Quickly create standard base plates and bracketry drawings and include them in your quotes. Your created drawings will then be saved in your customer’s library and a drawing of the part will be included in your works order.

Advanced Drawing Tools

Drawing Splitter

ipLaser’s Drawing Splitter can extract individual parts from drawings containing multiple parts. With ipLaser, you won’t have to waste time separating these files manually or through using multiple software packages. ipLaser saves your individual parts for use in future projects.

Drawing Splitter allows you to get back to your customer faster by reducing the time it takes you to provide a quote. While other jobshops wait for the customer to resubmit their drawing file, your jobshop will have already turned around a quote giving you the best chance of securing your sale.

Drawing Conflict Manager

End users sometimes inadvertently send you a previous revision of a part and are disappointed when they realise their mistake. When uploading a part, ipLaser will check the customer’s database to see if this part has previously been supplied. If it finds an identically named part it will allow you to open up both drawings side-by-side. You can then choose to rename one of the files, use the new file without renaming, or use the previous version.

Incorrectly cut parts due to duplicate file naming by a customer can be costly. ipLaser removes this risk by giving you the ability to choose which file to use and giving you options to rename or overwrite your new or previous file.

NC1 Importer

Civil construction companies often use NC1 files when they require parts to be cut. Before ipLaser, jobshops redrew components or used expensive and cumbersome AutoCAD packages to create a DXF or DWG drawing file. But now jobshops are using ipLaser to directly import NC1 files. ipLaser’s advanced system reads the material thickness and part quantity information enclosed in the NC1 file to reduce human error and ensure you can get back to your customers fast.

ipLaser removes the frustration and costs associated with the handling of NC1 files. With ipLaser, you can directly upload NC1 files, helping you provide timely and accurate quotes to your customers.

CSV Importer

ipLaser has the ability to accept a list of required parts via an uploaded CSV file. This can be in the form of a request for pricing of parts that have previously been ordered and reside in the customer’s parts library. Or in the form of a new request with part drawings attached.

ipLaser eliminates the data input function normally required when a list of parts is requested. This applies to both the part, material, thickness and quantity of parts which are all stipulated in the CSV file.

Advanced Processing Tools

ipOrderPlanner

ipLaser through the ipOrderPlanner module enables your business to ensure delivery in full and on time by managing the sequenced processes for all orders through work group calendars that are graphically displayed and with the added ability of real time “drag and drop” feature to reposition work to take advantage of process conditions and to smooth process flows.

ipOrderPlanner improves your bottom line whilst enabling you to meet your delivery commitments to your customers. This is achieved by processing the order of work and managing capacity issues efficiently.

Multi Parts Nesting

ipLaser nests each part to itself by default to determine parts per sheet to calculate material cost component. When parts have identical materials and thicknesses, multi-part nesting can be used to nest several parts together. The Multi-nested part prices are then applied to customers quote or Estimate.

Multi-part nesting ensures you maintain material margins and competitive part pricing. This may be determined when calculating a price or after the order has been received.

ipPartsPlanner

ipPartsPlanner is a separate tool that allows you to gather similar work from multiple customers and process it as a group. The tool displays lists of work and expected processing dates. The work is displayed by day and you are able to focus on a particular job attribute such as material and thickness. For example: ‘show me all the laser cutting of 6mm carbon steel over the next 5 days’. The user can then select parts from this list to determine the items that could be most efficiently processed together in a series of nests. ipPartsPlanner visually displays in real time the process time and approximate material consumption enabling better material utilisation and full sheet processing

ipPartsPlanner improves your efficiency by enabling you to sort your work into like/similar processes or Work Groups. You can select planned work and bring it forward to fill up a sheet or set up a twin table lights out scenario each night. Or to say optimise the tool setups for like materials and processes.

Secondary Operations Management

Profile cutters and Fabricators include Secondary Operations as part of their processing. These processes may be internal or external and can include for example folding, powder-coating, drilling. ipLaser can be set up to automatically calculate these processes by applying user rules and known part parameters. For example, if a part exceeds a defined mass, it will require 2 personnel and therefore additional costing are factored in accordance with the business rules.

Suppliers often struggle with accurate pricing when accounting for secondary operations such as folding, powder-coating, and utilising external suppliers. With a couple of mouse clicks in ipLaser an accurate price is automatically calculated, preset added lead-time is applied to delivery and the process is listed against the part in the quotation.

Fulfilment and Costing Tools

Freight Calculation

Accurate freight costs can be automatically applied to quotes and estimates generated by ipLaser. The Business sets freight rules based on delivery location and size of parts. When the price is calculated, the weight and size of all parts are used in the quote to determine the appropriate charges to be applied whether items are shipped in a cardboard box, bag, skid or pallet.

Freight costs can be problematic if they are not costed properly. By applying your transport costs accurately you can ensure that your jobs remain profitable. Costing freight through ipLaser also helps to minimise errors.

Previous Price Matching

ipLaser allows a customer to reorders a part at the same price they have paid in previous orders, even if your materials and cutting charges change. Prices can be matched to previous prices by either the cutting component or on the overall cost of the part. There is also a percentage setting that gives a warning if a new price for a previously supplied part is greater than a set percentage variance.

Relationships with good clients are not threatened by the inadvertent supplying of an inflated price. Good ongoing business is secured through trust and this is delivered through consistent pricing.

Express Process Charges

Most profile cutters will normally have a standard turnaround time of 4-7 working days. You can set ipLaser to have a standard turnaround time on a customer quote. But when an urgent job is requested then ipLaser allows you to set same day delivery in addition to standard charges. You can select different delivery charges depending on how quickly the customer requires the product. This option is applicable to both internal and external quotes and can be over ridden in your individual customer master file settings.

Express orders can be a source of scheduling frustration but they can also be an opportunity for premium pricing. With ipLaser the guess-work is removed by utilising set penalty rates for express jobs.

Fixed Price Parts

Fixed price parts allows your end customers to select from a library of parts with set pricing. End customers can simply add these parts to a new quote or estimate.
